![]() Challenge DescriptionSurface Temperature Map Processor (STEMP) offers the possibility to estimate the surface temperature and to generate a delineation map of the detected hotspot by satellite data having different spatial resolution (from 90 meters to 1 km). STEMP can, for example, detect lava flows and hotspots and use this data for creating a hot spot/lava flow map during a volcanic eruption. The algorithm used can also be applied for the detection of fires. This makes it possible to detect fires at an early stage and thus prevent the flames from spreading further. The goal of the Challenge is to estimate the Italian Volcanoes (Etna, Vesuvio, Campi Flegrei, Stromboli) surface temperature and to generate a delineation map of the detected hotspot by satellite data having different spatial resolution (from 90 meters to 1 km).
